HY-TECH CLUB is for students in GRADES 7-12 who want to learn how to code. The Club meets on a weekly basis at Hyland Software's Global Headquarters in Westlake, Ohio.
The first meetings of the SPRING 2018 semester will be FEBRUARY 6 or 7 2018, depending on which section you get in. The semester will run for 12 weeks and conclude in MAY 2018. Students should only apply if they can commit to weekly meetings.
Please note there are two separate applications for new students and former Hy-Tech Club Students.
Students are required to complete all pieces of the application by WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24 2018. All applications must be filled out by the student, in the student's own words. We are asking that parents do not fill out the application for their child.
NEW STUDENT APPLICANTS will need to include a teacher (current or former) recommendation in order to be considered.
Students will be notified (via the e-mail addresses on their application) whether or not they were accepted on FRIDAY, JANUARY 26 2018.
This application is for students who have not been in Hy-Tech Club before.
This section will meet every TUESDAY EVENINGS from 5-7:30PM starting on FEBRUARY 6, ending MAY 1.
If you have not been in Hy-Tech Club before, but you have programming experience, you may be considered for the Intro to C# Section which meets on Wednesday evenings from 5-7:30PM.
THIS APPLICATION INCLUDES:
ESSAY QUESTIONS (We recommend typing your answers into Microsoft Word first, then pasting your answers into the form)
1) Tell us why becoming a member of the Hy-Tech Club is important to you
2) Tell us 3 reasons why you want to learn how to code in the Hy-Tech Club
A RECOMMENDATION LETTER

Must be sent directly from the teacher's school e-mail address

This recommendation should speak to the student's work ethic and academic performance. It does not need to speak to the student's programming experience.
If you've applied in the past and used a teacher recommendation on your previous application, you do not need to turn in another recommendation.
This application is for students who have previously been active students in Hy-Tech Club.
FORMER STUDENTS will be applying for either Intro to C# or Advanced C# classes based on their previous experience with Hy-Tech Club.
Both of these classes are being offered on WEDNESDAY EVENINGS from 5-7:30PM.

Students who were in the Intro to C# section last time will be considered for the Advanced C# section which meets on Wednesday evenings from 5-7:30PM.
However, if your Instructor from last semester has recommended you re-take the class, we will let you know.
Students who were in the Advanced C# section last time can apply to re-rake the class if they'd like.
